A new star is born,” critics raved when Michael von der Heide released his first album in 1996 at the age of 25. The singer, who grew up in the mountain village of Amden, impresses with his musical versatility, bewitching charm and biting wit. In the meantime von der Heide has released his 13th album “ECHO”. He has given hundreds of concerts (among others in Germany, Austria, Canada, France, Ukraine), appeared in countless TV shows and has appeared in Christoph Marthaler’s productions several times (“Lina Böglis Reise”, “Meine faire Dame” or “King Size”) on the stages of the Zurich Schauspielhaus, the Avignon Opera, the Théâtre Odeon in Paris, the Royal Opera House or the Volksbühne in Berlin.
Michael von der Heide worked and still works with: Sina, Kuno Lauener, Martin Suter, Annette Humpe, Nina Hagen and Milena Moser.
Heide’s musical diversity has brought him a number of awards. He was awarded the Silver Rabbit for the best Swiss pop song of the year 1998 for his “Jeudi Amour”. In 1999 he received thePrix Walo in the category Songs/Chansons, in 2000 the German Cabaret Prize (Chanson) as well as gold records for various projects.
